Cohere is building a Communications team worthy of a world-class technical organization – and internal communications is at the center of that ambition. We're looking for an Internal Communications Manager to help shape how Cohere’s 500+ employees experience Cohere: its strategy, culture, and momentum of a company that’s defining what enterprise AI becomes. This is an opportunity to lead internal comms at a fast-growing company in the most dynamic space in technology.

In this cross-functional, individual contributor role, you'll work to ensure that Cohere employees feel informed, inspired, connected, and proud of the work we're doing together. You'll be embedded in the business as a trusted communications partner – helping leaders communicate clearly, designing channels that reduce noise and boost signal, and crafting narratives that connect our day-to-day work to our broader mission.

As Internal Communications Manager, You Will:

  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that align with the organization's goals and values.
  • Partner with executive teams, human resources, and team leads to develop clear, compelling messaging, materials, and event content around priorities, organizational changes, and business results.
  • Design and execute internal forums like all-team meetings, company-wide offsites, team updates, and news roundups.
  • Co-design principles and practices for how we use internal communications channels and how employees can engage with and share stories across the company.
  • Cultivate and manage channels for timely, relevant information – including Slack, email, blogs, and live formats – and experiment with new ones (video, audio, in-person).
  • Collaborate across teams to highlight stories that link daily work to Cohere’s mission, and celebrate company progress and external representation by our spokespeople.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research to propose communication strategies and tactics that resonate with our employee audience.
  • Oversee crisis internal communications strategies by preparing for and responding to internal issues, working closely with Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and the relevant leadership team to protect Cohere's internal culture and reputation.
  • Partner with external communications and marketing teams to ensure messaging consistency across internal and external channels.

You May Be a Good Fit If:

  • Have 5-7 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field – ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment.
  • Are an exceptional writer with a talent for distilling complex, cross-functional topics into simple, compelling narratives.
  • Have experience serving as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and people/human resources teams.
  • Are highly organized and process-driven, with strong project management skills and a bias for action.
  • Bring high levels of creativity to communications – in format, channel, and storytelling.
  • Are comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building strong relationships across all levels.
  • Have experience planning and executing internal events such as all-hands meetings, off-sites, or town halls.
  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and know how to prioritize ruthlessly.

We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities.
