About The Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team in EMEA. This isn’t a typical management role — we need someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and leads from the front: technically sharp, hands-on, and relentlessly focused on impact. You’ll manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers on the front lines of building agentic solutions with Cohere's North platform, balancing technical excellence with the kind of team leadership that actually moves things forward. You’ll be solving complex problems and securely integrating AI into critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Location: EMEA (remote-first)

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers focused on building agentic solutions with North in on-premises environments.
  • Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how we deliver AI to enterprises.
  • Build relationships with technical stakeholders on the customer end.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, focusing on bringing agentic solutions to every step of the development process.
  • Define and implement processes that scale agent development and deployment across multiple client environments.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership.
  • Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying enterprise software at scale, with focus on agentic applications.
  • High agency — you don't wait for permission to solve problems.
  • A doer mentality — you dig in, get stuff done, and can execute in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and business audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Fluency in additional European languages.
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Background in enterprise security and compliance.

What We Offer

  • Remote-flexible work from anywhere in EMEA.
  • 6 weeks of paid vacation.
  • Equity/stock options.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Co-working stipend.
  • Annual learning allowance ($2,000).

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form, and we will work together to meet your needs.

Perks for Full-Time Employees

  • An open and inclusive culture and work environment.
  • Work closely with a team on the cutting edge of AI research.
  • Weekly lunch stipend, in-office lunches & snacks.
  • Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget to take care of your mental health.
  • 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months.
  • Personal enrichment benefits towards arts and culture, fitness and well-being, quality time, and workspace improvement.
  • Remote-flexible, offices in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, London and Paris, as well as a co-working stipend.
  • 6 weeks of vacation (30 working days).
