We are looking to recruit a 40-hour Trainee Counter Assistant on a fixed term contract to work at our branch located at 12/13 Marian Square, Bootle, Liverpool, L30 5QA. The proposed shift pattern is as follows:
- Monday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid break)
- Tuesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid break)
- Wednesday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid break)
- Thursday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid break)
- Friday 09:00 – 18:00 (one-hour unpaid break)
As a Trainee Pharmacy Counter Assistant, you will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist and assist customers with the sale of over-the-counter medicines, offering advice on the provision of information, symptoms and products, as well as promoting the additional services that our branch offers. You will also be tasked with replenishing stock and supporting the pharmacy team.
The role would ideally suit someone with previous customer service experience. The utmost attention to detail is required in this role along with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. The successful candidate must have great people skills as this is paramount to your role. You will be required to work as part of a well-established team and ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.
You will be enrolled onto a Medicines Counter Assistant Course that you will complete in branch over a period of time and once qualified you will be able to confidently:
- Support colleagues in running a successful pharmacy service
- Advise customers on how to manage common conditions encountered in the pharmacy
- Recommend over the counter products appropriately to customers
- Support colleagues with receiving and handing out prescriptions.
