We are looking to recruit a 32‑hour Qualified Counter Assistant on a fixed term contract to work at our 726‑branch located at Freshney Green Primary Care Centre, Sorrell Road, Grimsby, DN34 4GB.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Tuesday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Thursday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Friday 09:00‑18:00 (1‑hour unpaid lunch break)

As a Qualified Pharmacy Counter Assistant, you will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist and will assist customers with the sale of over‑the‑counter medicines, offer advice on symptoms and products, and promote the additional services that our branch offers. You will also be tasked with replenishing stock and supporting the pharmacy team. The role would ideally suit someone with previous customer service experience. The utmost attention to detail is required in this role, along with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

You will already be qualified as a Medicine Counter Assistant; your duties will include:

  • Supporting colleagues in running a successful pharmacy service
  • Advising customers on how to manage common conditions encountered in the pharmacy
  • Recommending over‑the‑counter products appropriately to customers
  • Supporting colleagues with receiving and handing out prescriptions
