We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Team Operative to join our branch refit team who are primarily based at our Head Office in Lostock, Bolton BL6 4SA. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work at various sites across the UK, which on occasion will require overnight stays in hotels.
This position is permanent and the contracted hours will be a basic minimum of 40 hours per week, however, regular overtime is usually required to be worked and therefore you will typically work a 55-hour week. Standard baseline working hours are Monday to Friday 9am until 6pm with a daily 1-hour unpaid lunch, however you will often be required to work on Saturdays and out of hours.
What makes the perfect candidate?
- You must have the ability to adapt to a variety of working environments such as Head Office, Pharmacy branches and other various properties that we own.
- You must have a full, UK clean driving licence!
Your Main duties will include:
- Sharing driving responsibilities of the company van to and from sites
- Completing set jobs in a timely manner
- Assisting Team Leaders to set up the work sites
- Manual handling
- The use of basic hand/power tools (110v & 240v)
- Cleaning sites/properties
- Carpentry works
- General decorating
- Safe keeping, inspection and tool maintenance
- Compliance with the Groups Health, Safety & Environment Policy, Method Statements & Risk Assessments
- Compliance with on-site Health and Safety rules/procedures and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Essential skill set required:
- Health and Safety awareness
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use Smart Phones/ tablets/ iPads
- Strong work ethic, commitment and loyalty
- Flexible in your availability to work
- Basic DIY skills
Although not essential, it would be desirable if candidates held the following qualifications:
- First Aid
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card/Qualification
