Role Description

We are looking for a proactive Studio Manager to join our growing design studio in Newcastle. As Studio Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day running of the studio, providing vital administrative, operational, and financial support. You’ll keep things moving behind the scenes, helping our team stay on track while also supporting creative output.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordinating administrative procedures and systems, and devising ways to streamline processes
  • Ensuring efficient filing and record‑keeping
  • Preparing regular financial and administrative reports, maintaining files and company databases
  • Being the point of contact for the company between the directors and suppliers/clients and managing the information flow
  • Managing timings and deadlines
  • Assisting with project‑specific tasks
  • Budgeting, invoicing, payments
  • Working with accountants on VAT returns and monthly financial reporting
  • Scheduling meetings and managing calendars
  • Coordinating courier/logistics
  • Responding to initial client queries (email and phone)
  • Assisting with correspondence of the Directors (emails, calls, etc.)

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in studio/office management, ideally within a creative or design‑led environment
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with integrity and professionalism
  • Strong people management skills, and calm under pressure
  • Clear communicator, forward thinking, forward planning
  • Confident using all Microsoft Office software for business, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and switching between tasks
  • Experience in bookkeeping and basic financial principles and Sage
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile projects and lean management would be an advantage
