This is an excellent opportunity for System Admin professionals to be part of leading-edge technology projects. Cognizant’s Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Services Practice provides end-to-end solutions covering architecture, design, implementation, management, and on-going support across the entire enterprise technology infrastructure. Our services include a spectrum of management, consulting, and systems integration services to help our clients maximize value in their infrastructure resources, while optimizing infrastructure performance and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
- Installing, configuring, and patching Oracle Solaris operating systems on SPARC servers.
- Managing user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Monitoring system performance and resource utilization.
- Performing system backups and recovery operations.
- Managing system boot processes and shutdown procedures.
- Security Patching
Storage Management:
- Managing ZFS file systems on SPARC servers, including data redundancy and performance optimization.
- Implementing and managing disk mirroring and RAID configurations.
Network Administration:
- Configuring network interfaces and managing network connectivity on SPARC servers.
- Implementing network security policies.
Performance Tuning:
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks on SPARC systems.
- Optimizing system parameters for specific workloads.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues on SPARC servers.
- Analyzing system logs and identifying potential problems.
Security:
- Implementing and maintaining security best practices on SPARC systems.
- Managing user access controls and system hardening procedures.
Key Skills and Experience :
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle Solaris operating system administration.
- Expertise in SPARC hardware architecture and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools
- Understanding of network concepts and protocols
- Experience with ZFS file system management
- Knowledge of system security best practices
- Basic knowledge of Puppet
- High level of competency in managing clustering
