The Workday Financials AMS Principal Consultant is an experienced professional in Workday post‑production support, who is dynamic, fast‑paced, and familiar with the Application Managed Services (AMS) consulting practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide post‑production application-managed support for Workday Financials across multiple client environments.
  • Enable clients to maximize their investment in Workday by optimizing Financials operations, enhancing existing system functionality, and supporting the deployment of new configurations to meet evolving business needs.
  • Execute day‑to‑day AMS activities for Workday Financials, including incident resolution, minor enhancements, configuration changes, and functional troubleshooting.
  • Support a variety of client contract models, including staff augmentation, ad‑hoc support, and project‑based delivery.
  • Track issues, risks, and service requests; communicate status clearly and escalate concerns to project or service management as appropriate.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Workday Financials best practices, including configuration, security, business processes, and reporting.
  • Evaluate, communicate, and coordinate the functional and downstream impacts of Financials configuration decisions.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and educate clients on effectively operating and managing Workday Financials in a SaaS environment.
  • Develop deep expertise in Workday core Financials functionality, while building broader familiarity with related modules such as Expenses, Procurement, Projects, Asset Management, and Accounting Center, as well as Workday’s product roadmap.
  • Work directly with key business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, discuss design options, and configure, test, and deploy Financials solutions.
  • Mentor junior consultants and actively share knowledge to help grow the AMS practice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years of Workday Financials experience.
  • Workday Financials certification highly desirable.
  • Hands‑on experience in a functional or techno‑functional role supporting Workday Financials post go‑live.
  • Strong understanding of Workday Financials modules and business processes (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Expenses, Procurement).
  • Experience working in an AMS or post‑production support model preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage client expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and operate in a dynamic, growing ecosystem with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance - you must have been a UK resident for the last five years and be legally entitled to work in the UK.
