About the Role
We are currently seeking Technical Architects at Senior Manager level to join our team. The candidates will have at least 5+ years’ experience leading architecture engagements and 3+ years’ experience as a Technical Design Authority. This role requires a high level of stakeholder management, the ability to quality assure architecture designs, and coordinate multiple development teams in a complex environment. The candidate will have IT consulting experience or have worked for a system integrator in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Providing technology leadership, delivering high quality, creative and insightful technology advice; ensuring project success through timely and accurate production of agreed deliverables.
- Shaping, leading and delivering value through technology advisory consultancy and guiding transformational delivery engagements.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills at senior levels that will enable consensus building and shaping technology direction.
- Leading in the development and presentation of client proposals collaborating with teams across our business.
- Leading in the development of collateral to support Technology Consulting ‘go to market’ propositions and service offerings.
- Farming of accounts - working with account teams to support opportunity identification, qualification and sales.
- Contributing to the development of practice members’ skills to ensure a consistency of service delivery and expertise. Active coaching and mentoring of junior members of the team.
- Developing, implementing, and continually refining a coherent approach and appropriate frameworks to support business transformation proposals, including presentations, specimen RFI/RFP content, methodologies, toolkits and deliverables.

What you’ll bring
The Technical Architect will have set-up and operated a Technical Design Authority (TDA) function. They will be responsible for continuous improvement of the formal governance process and provide technical advice at informal Development Working Group (DWG) sessions. This includes assurance and compliance of high-level and low-level designs (HLDs/LLDs) against agreed architecture principles, standards, and quality guidelines. They will have strong communication skills, gravitas, and be able to exert influence in a complex stakeholder, multi-supplier, heterogeneous IT environment.
Core skills and experience
- Organize and run CTO Office TDA function (i.e., TDA charter, operating model).
- Broad knowledge of technical architectures (e.g., cloud, distributed, monolithic).
- Good coverage of application, data, integration, infrastructure, security domains.
- Demonstrable understanding of architecture governance (incl., waivers/deviations).
- Strong understanding of architecture design patterns (incl., integration anti-patterns).
- Strong understanding of modeling notation (e.g., ArchiMate, UML, BPMN).
- Management and recording of key design decisions (i.e., architecture repository).
Desirable skills and experience
- Familiarity with TOGAF (incl., ADM).
- Familiarity with Sparx EA.
- Familiarity with Agile methods (e.g., SCRUM, SAFe).
- Knowledge of analysis and design methods (e.g., Structured, OOAD).
