Our customers especially value our ability to provide Salesforce advisory and execution capabilities for complex end-to-end multi-cloud, multi-country deployments across the entire spectrum of Customer Experience (CX), be it Sales, Service (including Field Service), Marketing, Commerce, Analytics & Integration.

Our dedicated Salesforce practice harnesses the full power of Salesforce products and innovations, while leveraging our design thinking, consultative approach, and CX expertise to create new digital experiences for customers. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid hands-on Salesforce development experience who is ready to contribute independently across solution design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation support.

You will work closely with senior developers, testers and other members of the scrum team, taking ownership of development tasks while continuing to grow your technical expertise. This role is based in London and requires travel to the client’s office 2 times/week.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Participate in code reviews and apply coding standards to improve code quality and maintainability.
  • Maintain Kanban boards and keep development tasks organised, visible and up to date.
  • Develop Apex test classes aligned to business scenarios, technical requirements and development standards.
  • Deliver development work in line with the team’s Definition of Done, including documentation and peer review activities.
  • Update Salesforce data models, ensuring changes are documented, reviewed and aligned to project requirements.
  • Contribute to Proofs of Concept and development tasks as part of the wider project team.
  • Create and execute test plans and test scripts to support quality delivery.
  • Support release readiness activities, implementation planning and deployment rehearsals.

The experience you will need to demonstrate:

  • Solid hands-on experience in Salesforce configuration and development.
  • Experience with Service Cloud.
  • Experience with Experience Cloud would be beneficial.
  • Hands-on development experience with Lightning Web Components, Aura or Apex.

How to prepare for a job interview at Cognizant

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Cognizant uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
