About the Role
As a Business Analyst - Water & Utilities, you will make an impact by partnering with clients across the water and wider utilities sector to shape and deliver business and technology transformation initiatives. You will be a valued member of a multidisciplinary consulting team, working closely with client stakeholders, delivery leads, and technology specialists to improve asset performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activities across asset management, operations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements, translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT and Operational Technology (OT) teams to support solutions across areas such as asset performance, telemetry, and control systems.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and working sessions, aligning business, regulatory, and technology perspectives.
- Support solution delivery through requirements traceability, testing support, and change control to help realise measurable business benefits.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position, requiring time in a client or Cognizant office in London. What you need to have to be considered:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the water, energy, or utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of asset management processes, including asset lifecycle planning, maintenance, and performance optimisation.
- Experience working with or alongside Operational Technology (OT) environments such as SCADA, telemetry, or plant control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality requirements, process models, and functional documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
These will help you stand out:
- Knowledge of ISO 55000, PAS 55, or other asset management standards.
- Experience working in regulated utilities environments, including exposure to Ofwat or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with asset management or enterprise systems such as Maximo, SAP PM, Ellipse, GIS, or data analytics platforms.
- Professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, IIBA CBAP, or equivalent.
