We are looking for a Business Analyst who can work independently on initiatives within the Energy & Utilities sector. The role involves leading requirements activities, engaging directly with stakeholders, and supporting delivery across digital, operational, and regulatory transformation programmes. You will play a key role in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements across customer, asset, market, and enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Requirements: Lead end-to-end requirements gathering across business and technology teams. Produce detailed business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Perform gap analysis across current-state and future-state processes.
- Process Mapping & Optimisation: Map and analyse Energy & Utilities processes (e.g., customer onboarding, billing, metering, outage management, asset maintenance). Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and regulatory risks. Support design of future-state processes aligned to transformation goals.
- Energy & Utilities Domain Expertise: Apply knowledge of UK energy and utilities frameworks, including retail operations, networks, renewables, and regulatory obligations. Support compliance with industry regulations, market rules, and data standards.
- Data, Systems & Delivery: Work with data teams on reporting, MI, and operational insights. Collaborate with product, engineering, and vendor teams on system changes. Support UAT planning, execution, and defect triage.
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business SMEs and leadership. Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams. Provide clear status updates, risks, and recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Essential: 3-7 years' Business Analysis experience. Experience working independently with senior stakeholders. Strong skills in requirements documentation, process modelling, and analysis. Experience in Energy & Utilities or other regulated industries.
- Preferred: Experience with Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban). Familiarity with core utilities systems (billing, CRM, asset or work management). Professional BA certification (CBAP, Agile BA) desirable.
