At Cognivate, we believe the "right person" is more important than a specific office location. We are looking for an experienced Neuropsychologist to join our core interdisciplinary team. While we are strategically expanding our reach across the Midlands, we care most about finding a clinician who is passionate about delivering life-changing, community-based neurorehabilitation. Therefore, you do not need to be based in Birmingham, but could be anywhere around Birmingham, Cambridge, Peterborough or Nottingham.
The Role
As a core team Neuropsychologist, you will play a key clinical role in delivering high-quality neuropsychological rehabilitation within our Midlands service. You will work closely with our Clinical Director, Dr Anita Rose, and alongside colleagues across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech & language therapy to provide integrated, goal-focused rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury (ABI). This role is primarily clinical, with a strong emphasis on direct client work and interdisciplinary collaboration, rather than service leadership or supervision of others.
What You’ll Do
- Clinical Practice: Deliver specialist neuropsychological assessments and interventions, with a focus on cognitive, emotional, and behavioural rehabilitation in real-world contexts (home, work, and community).
- Interdisciplinary Working: Contribute actively to interdisciplinary team working, including joint goal-setting, shared formulation, and collaborative rehabilitation planning with OT, PT, and SLT colleagues.
- Client-Centred Rehabilitation: Apply evidence-based approaches to support clients to regain independence, confidence, and participation in meaningful activities.
- Specialist Intervention: Utilise trauma-informed approaches and vocational rehabilitation strategies, where appropriate, to support clients in returning to work, education, and valued life roles.
Who You Are
- Qualified: HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a post-graduate qualification in Neuropsychology (QiCN or equivalent).
- Experienced: You have at least 4 years of experience in ABI and a heart for community-based, interdisciplinary work.
- Local-ish: Ideally based in or around the Midlands, with a willingness to travel within the region to meet our clients where they are.
What you get
We offer 35 days annual leave (pro rata), inclusive of bank holidays, with flexibility in how leave is structured to support a healthy work–life balance. The salary range for this role is £65,000–£75,000 FTE, depending on experience, with a minimum contract of 0.4 FTE available. All travel to and from client appointments is fully paid, recognising the community-based nature of the role. You will also have access to a salary sacrifice pension scheme to support long-term financial planning, alongside life assurance cover providing financial protection for your nominated beneficiaries.
Our Smart Health wellbeing platform provides comprehensive health and wellbeing support, including a 24/7 digital GP service, mental health support, second medical opinion service, online health checks, fitness and nutrition programmes, and convenient mobile app access. Professional development is central to our culture. You will receive dedicated clinical supervision from our Clinical Director, have access to internal interdisciplinary CPD networks, and benefit from external CPD funding opportunities. The role also offers valuable exposure to vocational rehabilitation and trauma-informed practice within community neurorehabilitation settings.
You will join a clinically focused, supportive interdisciplinary team that values autonomy in practice and is committed to delivering evidence-based rehabilitation. As part of our expanding Midlands service, you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of high-quality community neurorehabilitation in the region.
