A leading global consultancy is looking for a Senior Data Modeller / Business Architect to support the transformation and migration of legacy on-premise applications and data assets to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is an opportunity to contribute to the creation of data products that align with enterprise standards and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the data modelling components of solution design to ensure alignment with business requirements
- Develop conceptual data models consistent with enterprise-wide data frameworks
- Build logical and physical data models, ensuring scalability and performance
- Define mappings between various layers of data abstraction
- Facilitate data model approval through internal governance processes
- Assist with metadata management and register data products within a data catalog (e.g., Collibra)
- Apply best practices in enterprise data modelling, including use of star schemas and de-normalised structures
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience using data modelling tools
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud technologies such as BigQuery, GCS, and Kafka
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS), scripting in Python and Unix Shell
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in client-facing roles and collaborative team environments
