As a Presales Data Architect, you will shape, position, and design next-generation data and AI solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure ML. You’ll be at the forefront of Microsoft’s modern data ecosystem—partnering with enterprise clients, supporting bids and proposals, running discovery workshops, and translating business goals into scalable, commercially viable architectures. This role combines technical leadership with strategic presales influence: solutioning, estimating, shaping delivery approaches, and guiding customers toward modern cloud, analytics, and AI adoption. You will work closely with technical specialists, industry experts, and executives to help organisations turn complex data challenges into real business outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Lead presales engagements, including discovery sessions, client workshops, technical assessments, and architecture presentations.
- Architect modern end-to-end data platforms for ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure Storage technologies.
- Design and position AI and machine learning solutions—including LLMs, generative AI, and Copilot integrations—to solve real business problems.
- Produce solution architectures, high-level designs, roadmaps, estimates, and proposals for enterprise customers.
- Develop clean and reusable Python and SQL patterns in support of scalable data engineering and AI workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to define predictive analytics and ML strategies.
- Advise customers on AI adoption, operating models, governance, security, and value realisation.
- Promote best practices across data architecture, DevOps, performance optimisation, governance, and workflow automation.
- Champion the adoption and innovation of Microsoft Fabric across client engagements and internal practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong presales presence: able to lead workshops, shape deals, influence stakeholders, and translate needs into architecture.
- Proven expertise in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and enterprise-scale data engineering.
- Experience delivering AI/ML solutions into production environments, including pipeline design and model integration.
- Hands‑on capabilities in Python, SQL, Spark, Delta Lake, and Azure‑native data services.
- Background with Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, vector search, and enterprise AI implementation patterns.
- Experience integrating AI into large enterprise systems at scale.
- Advantageous: experience with Microsoft Copilot, prompt engineering, and AI safety/guardrail models.
- Excellent communicator with the gravitas to influence clients, guide technical teams, and act as a trusted advisor.
