Innovation Consultant / Tech Lead – Microsoft AI & Business Applications
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced
Innovation Consultant / Tech Lead to help organisations transform the way they work through Microsoft AI, Copilot, Power Platform and Dynamics 365 technologies.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role that combines technical leadership, solution design, stakeholder engagement and hands‑on delivery .
You'll work directly with senior business and technical stakeholders to shape innovation roadmaps, lead workshops, design solutions and build cutting-edge applications, automations, AI agents and prototypes.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable presenting to executive audiences as they are rolling up their sleeves and building solutions. This is a genuine consultative Tech Lead position , requiring someone who can bridge the gap between business challenges and technical delivery.
- Proven experience working within a
Microsoft Consultancy, Microsoft Partner, or technology consulting organisation . This experience is considered essential for success in the role.
- Demonstrable experience in a consulting, solution delivery, technical lead or innovation-focused position within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Strong hands‑on experience with
Microsoft Power Platform , including Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio.
- Working knowledge of
- Microsoft 365 Copilot and
Dynamics 365 .
- Experience designing, prototyping and delivering AI‑powered solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI services and related technologies.
- Proven ability to translate client requirements into innovative, scalable and well‑designed technology solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both business and technical audiences.
- Experience leading customer discussions, requirements workshops, solution demonstrations and technical discovery sessions.
- Ability to own and lead technical workstreams from design through to delivery while maintaining excellent documentation standards.
- Experience contributing to enterprise‑scale AI, innovation, digital transformation or Copilot adoption programmes.
- Exposure to Azure AI Foundry, AI Builder and wider Microsoft AI technologies.
- Experience extending and customising Power Platform solutions using pro‑code approaches.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and/or Finance & Supply Chain Management.
- Experience facilitating design‑thinking workshops, innovation labs and ideation sessions.
- Microsoft certifications across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, AI or Microsoft 365.
- Experience delivering solutions within highly regulated sectors such as Financial Services or Healthcare are a bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Technical Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them identify opportunities to leverage Microsoft technologies and AI capabilities.
- Lead and facilitate discovery workshops, innovation sessions and solution design engagements.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into practical technology solutions.
- Present strategic recommendations, solution concepts and demonstrations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Provide technical leadership across engagements, ensuring solutions align with best practices, scalability and security requirements.
- Solution Design & Delivery
- Design and deliver innovative solutions across Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Dynamics 365 and Azure AI.
- Build and deliver AI agents, automations, low‑code applications and intelligent business solutions that drive measurable business value.
- Produce high‑quality solution documentation, technical designs, implementation plans and handover materials.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Rapidly prototype innovative solutions, proof of concepts and AI‑driven applications.
- Remain actively involved in the technical delivery of solutions rather than operating solely in an advisory capacity.
- Apply modern development and architecture practices to ensure solutions are secure, scalable and production‑ready.
- Continuously evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies and identify opportunities to create value for clients.
- Contribute to reusable intellectual property, accelerators, frameworks and innovation assets.
- Share knowledge and best practice across the wider team.
- Mentor junior consultants and support capability development across Microsoft technologies and AI solutions.
- Maintain awareness of Microsoft's evolving technology roadmap and bring new ideas and innovation into the business.
