Azure Data Architect

Contract role – Inside IR35

Windsor, UK – Hybrid (1 day per week on-site)

6 Months – options to extend

We are currently working with a leading, global technology consultancy who are looking for an experienced Azure Data Architect to join a major transformation programme within the energy sector. This role focuses on shaping data strategy and architecture across a large-scale smart metering initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret complex, large-scale datasets to deliver meaningful insights
• Source, transform, and manage data across the Azure ecosystem
• Design and implement robust data models for analytics and reporting
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and lifecycle governance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven outcomes
• Resolve issues related to data accessibility, consistency, and analysis

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure Data Services, including Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, and Databricks
• Deep knowledge of Power BI and data visualization best practices
• 10+ years working with data architecture and analytics on the Azure platform
• Solid experience with SQL and scripting in Python or R
• Strong analytical skills and pattern recognition
• Background in the energy/utilities sector – smart metering domain knowledge is a major plus
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex data pipelines
• 15+ years in IT with significant enterprise-scale data engagements
