£26,343 - £28,634 FTE | £22,999 actual salary for term time only. March 2026. Long Road is a thriving, successful post-16 Sixth Form College with 2,600 students on roll across a variety of studies. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, within easy reach of several areas of outstanding natural beauty and the Norfolk and Suffolk coast, the college is set next to the Biomedical Campus in its own attractive grounds in the city of Cambridge. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be Good or Outstanding in all five categories at its most recent inspection in February 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a technical service to staff and students in the Visual and Performing Arts department, with specific responsibilities to Design & Technology to provide and maintain a high-quality offer to students.
  • Demonstrate the use of workshop machinery, tools and computing techniques and processes to staff and students, and be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and stock.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within a Workshop is essential.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and CLEAPPS legislation is required.
  • Willingness to undertake First Aider training.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including weekly twilight hours; good team working and communication skills.
