We are an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents. We’re the makers of Devin, the first AI software engineer. Cognition is building collaborative AI teammates that enable engineers to focus on more interesting problems and empower engineering teams to strive for more ambitious goals. Our team is small and talent-dense. Among our founding team, we have world-class competitive programmers, former founders, and leaders from companies at the cutting edge of AI including Scale AI, Cursor, Waymo, Tesla, Lunchclub, Modal, Google DeepMind, and Nuro. Building Devin is just the first step—our hardest challenges still lie ahead. If you’re excited to solve some of the world’s biggest problems and build AI that can reason on real-world tasks, apply to join us.
About the Role
At Cognition, partners are force multipliers. Partner Deployed Engineers (Partner DEs) are partner-facing (and customer-facing) technical experts who enable services partners such as Global Systems Integrators to successfully deploy, scale, and deliver value with Devin and Windsurf across their client base. In this role, you will work closely with partner solution architects, delivery leads, and engineering teams to help them build repeatable offerings and internal expertise on top of the Cognition platform. Rather than owning a single customer, you’ll amplify impact by enabling partners to support many customers at scale. This role blends deep technical work, partner enablement, and ecosystem thinking. You’ll lead technical enablement sessions, co-deliver pilots, unblock complex deployments, and help GSIs operationalize Devin/Windsurf into their delivery motions. You’ll act as Cognition’s technical representative within partner organizations.
In This Role, You Will
- Own the technical success of GSI partners across onboarding, enablement, and scaled delivery of Devin/Windsurf.
- Work directly with partner engineering and architecture teams to understand their delivery models, tooling, and customer use cases.
- Enable partners to build repeatable solutions, accelerators, and reference architectures using Devin/Windsurf.
- Lead technical trainings, workshops, and deep dives for partner teams (hands-on, not slideware).
- Support partner-led customer pilots and early production deployments, stepping in where complexity is highest.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex integrations, security reviews, CI/CD environments, and enterprise workflows.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with partner technical leaders in GSIs (e.g., delivery heads, principal engineers, solution architects).
- Capture field learnings and partner feedback to influence product roadmap, packaging, and partner readiness.
- Proactively identify gaps in partner capability and work with internal teams to close them.
What We Value
- Partner expertise. You understand how GSIs operate, deliver projects, and measure success.
- Ownership mindset. You take responsibility for partner outcomes, not just enablement activities.
- Technical depth. You can reason about real systems, not just demos.
- Leverage thinking. You prefer enabling 10 teams over doing the work for 1.
- Bias toward execution. You move quickly from concept to working deployment.
- Comfort with ambiguity. Partner environments are messy; you thrive in that reality.
Requirements
- Degree in STEM field and a strong engineering foundation from a rigorous technical environment.
- Demonstrated track record of exceptional performance in academic, professional, or entrepreneurial pursuits.
- Experience working with or alongside large engineering teams (enterprise or services environments preferred).
- Strong communication skills; you can engage credibly and build relationships with senior partner leaders, architects, and executives.
- High tolerance for ambiguity, intensity, and sustained effort when required.
- Willingness to travel 25–50%, including frequent travel to India and partner/customer sites.
You Might Excel If You…
- Are advanced in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript).
- Have experience writing, debugging, and deploying real production systems.
- Have worked with SI / GSI delivery models, enterprise software deployments, or large-scale developer platforms.
- Enjoy enabling others to be successful, not just building things yourself.
- Learn quickly by embedding in complex, real-world environments.
- Have operated beyond your formal job description in high-growth or early-stage settings or have previously founded a startup.
- Thrive in roles that require you to context switch quickly and handle a broad range of technical and non-technical problems.
