We are seeking a vibrant, well-qualified, and committed Biology Teacher. The successful candidate will teach Integrated Science in Grades 6–10 (Years 7–11) and deliver specialist Biology lessons in Grades 11–12 (Years 12–13) as part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. With a liberal ethos, an emphasis on academic excellence and a commitment to the values of the IB, Southbank offers the opportunity to further extend your teaching and learning skills in a friendly, supportive but hard‑working team. We offer excellent professional development opportunities linked to our well‑developed appraisal programme which provides all teachers with regular feedback. We want all our teachers to develop professionally and to help develop the school. We are particularly interested in candidates able to demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning practice informed by educational research. All our teachers offer a termly extra‑curricular activity which should motivate, excite and interest children. We welcome applications from experienced teachers who have worked in either the independent or state sector and/or internationally.
Who We Are Looking For
The ability to teach Biology to an advanced level, up to IB Higher Level (or equivalent), is essential. Previous experience of IB programmes would be an advantage; however, above all, we are looking for a teacher with a genuine passion for Biology and the knowledge, enthusiasm, creativity and energy to inspire that same passion in their students.
