Brighton College Prep Kensington is a happy and vibrant school for girls and boys aged 2 to 13 years. We are a thriving independent preparatory school in central London, educating boys and girls from the age of 2 to 13. Guided by our core values of confidence, curiosity, and kindness, we offer a broad, ambitious, and enriching education that encourages pupils to understand both their place in the world and their responsibilities within it.

As part of the Brighton College family of schools, we combine a strong shared ethos with our own distinctive identity. Named London Independent School of the Year finalists in 2025, we are recognised for our innovative approach and commitment to pupil well-being. Situated beside Exhibition Road, at the heart of London’s cultural quarter, we make exceptional use of our location to support geographical fieldwork, sustainability education, and global citizenship, inspiring pupils to think critically about people, places, and the future of our planet.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Geography Specialist to teach geography from Year 3 to Year 8, while actively promoting an understanding of the world and a sense of global responsibility across the whole school. The successful candidate will join a supportive and expanding Humanities Department, contributing to a forward-thinking curriculum that places strong emphasis on fieldwork, sustainability, environmental awareness, and global citizenship.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape geography provision within a school that values curiosity, creativity, and real-world learning. You will lead engaging and high-quality geography teaching for pupils from Year 3 to Year 8, inspiring curiosity about people, places, and environments, delivering a rich curriculum that encourages critical thinking and deepens pupils’ understanding of the world.

In Years 7 and 8, you will deliver a stimulating and challenging programme, including preparation for senior school entrance exams and scholarship assessments. You will contribute to the ongoing development of a cohesive, progressive geography curriculum, embedding themes such as sustainability, climate change, and global citizenship. Taking full advantage of the school’s central London location, you will plan and lead creative fieldwork and enrichment activities, promoting geography beyond the classroom through clubs, competitions, and themed events.

You will also play an active role in wider school life, supporting sporting activities, trips, assemblies, and whole-school projects, while modelling the school’s values of confidence, curiosity, and kindness. This is a permanent, full-time position with a proposed start date in the new academic year in September 2026.
