About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our team leading a Pre‑Prep (KS1) class. As Form Tutor, you will play a central role in the pastoral care, wellbeing, and development of your pupils, fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. You will deliver high‑quality teaching tailored to meet the needs of all learners, using assessment effectively to inform planning, provide meaningful feedback, and support progress.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff—including the management of a Learning Assistant—you will contribute to a positive, well‑managed classroom that reflects the school’s values. The role also offers the opportunity to be actively involved in the co‑curricular programme and wider school life, supporting enrichment activities, events, and your own ongoing professional development under the guidance of the Headteacher and Head of Pre‑Prep. This is a full‑time, permanent position with an anticipated start date in September 2026.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a well‑qualified and committed professional with a PGCE and QTS, alongside GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience of teaching within KS1, coupled with a strong track record of pastoral care and a clear understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures. You will be confident in building positive relationships with parents, communicating effectively about pupils’ progress and wellbeing.

Highly organised, flexible, and proactive, you will thrive both working collaboratively with colleagues and under the guidance of the Headteacher and Head of Pre‑Prep. Above all, you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and enthusiastic about contributing fully to the values of Alleyn’s and the wider life of an independent school community.
