The Nursery Teacher delivers a high-quality Early Years education, supporting pupils’ learning, personal development, and wellbeing from the very start of their school journey.

As a Nursery Teacher, you will plan and deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging EYFS curriculum that nurtures curiosity, independence, and strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, and personal development. You will create a warm, purposeful learning environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore. Through high-quality observation and assessment, you will track progress, inform next steps, and maintain accurate learning journals. Working closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents, you will contribute to a cohesive and high-quality Early Years provision that reflects the school’s ethos, high standards, and commitment to exceptional pastoral care.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a proposed September 2026 start date. There is a possibility of starting in April 2026.

We are looking for a caring, committed and skilled Early Years practitioner who can contribute positively to our nurturing and high-achieving environment. You will be someone who brings strong professional knowledge, a passion for Early Years education, and the ability to support every child’s learning and wellbeing.

Essential Qualities And Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate Early Years teaching qualification
  • Secure and up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Evidence of effective teaching that leads to strong pupil progress
  • A strong understanding of observation, assessment, and planning
  • High standards of professionalism, organisation, and communication
  • A secure understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to children’s welfare

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience within an independent or preparatory school
  • Familiarity with ISI inspection frameworks
  • Experience contributing to the development or growth of an Early Years provision
