About the Role
As an EYFS Learning Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing, joyful and purposeful start to school life for our youngest learners. Working under the direction of the Class Teacher and specialist staff, you will support high‑quality teaching and learning across the EYFS, helping children aged 3–5 to develop confidence, independence and early academic skills. You will contribute to a calm, engaging and well‑organised classroom environment, assist with observations and assessments, and play an important part in daily routines, transitions, playtimes and enrichment activities. You will also support school events, after‑school clubs and the wider life of this vibrant and welcoming school. Above all, you will help to uphold our ROCCK values: Respect, Opportunity, Curiosity, Courage and Kindness, and ensure that every child feels safe, happy and supported.
Who We Are Looking For
You will bring warmth, patience and enthusiasm for working with young children, alongside a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare or early years qualification (or equivalent experience). You will have experience supporting learning in a classroom setting, strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents. You are organised, proactive and adaptable, with a commitment to safeguarding and a willingness to engage in EYFS training, including paediatric first aid. An interest in early literacy, numeracy, outdoor learning or EYFS‑based clubs is an advantage. Most importantly, you care deeply about helping every child thrive.
