About the Role: We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to support the delivery of a safe, engaging, and nurturing after‑school environment for children aged 2–7. The successful candidate will supervise and interact with children through a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities including arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, and reading, while promoting positive behaviour and supporting children’s social, emotional, and physical development. Responsibilities will also include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times, assisting with food preparation and clearing away, setting up and tidying play areas, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment. The role requires adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies, as well as effective communication with colleagues and parents or carers where required. A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification is desirable, although training can be provided. Attendance at some INSET sessions for compliance training will also be required. This is a part‑time, 0.38 FTE, term‑term contract position starting September 2026.
Who We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, preferably aged 2–7, along with an understanding of child development and learning processes. Applicants should have knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies and safeguarding, as well as GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. The successful candidate will be creative in problem‑solving, open to trying new approaches and ideas, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential, together with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
