About the Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a child with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) in Year 3 and beyond. Your focus will be on helping them access the curriculum, build communication skills, and grow socially and emotionally. You will work closely with the child both individually and within the classroom, adapting learning activities and monitoring their progress so they can reach their full potential. Your day-to-day work will involve providing structured support, encouraging positive interactions, promoting independence, and ensuring the child feels fully included in school life. You will collaborate closely with teaching staff, follow Primary Stage Curriculum expectations, and contribute observations and feedback that help shape the child’s learning journey.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role, currently needed 5 mornings per week (8:45am - 12:30pm) during term-time. The contract is linked to the child’s individual needs and will continue for the period during which 1:1 support is required.

You are confident supporting learning, adapting activities, and collaborating with teachers and the SENCo. You build positive relationships with pupils and staff, respond thoughtfully to challenges, and model professionalism at all times. With your supportive nature and commitment to helping every child succeed, you will make a meaningful difference in this rewarding role.
