To work collaboratively with the Head of Humanities to deliver high‑quality teaching of History and Politics at Downsend School. The successful candidate will contribute to a clear ethos, positive atmosphere, and attractive learning environment within the History and Politics departments, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across KS3 to KS5. They will support the work of the department by participating in a range of tasks and contributing to a collaborative team culture, developing teaching in line with the school's policies and schemes of work. In addition, the post holder will assist with the History and Politics enrichment programme, including historical visits and trips, as well as politics‑related activities such as Model United Nations and debating, and will carry out any other associated duties as reasonably assigned by the Head of School.

Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills, including strong oral and written abilities, ICT proficiency, and outstanding organisational and administrative skills.
- Calm, efficient, able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high professional standards.
