We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to assist in providing a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment for children aged between 2 and 4 years. Working within the standards and requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, you will plan and assess activities to help children of all attainment levels achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support group and independent activities for children of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs.
  • Adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs and deliver phonics instruction.
  • Work closely with the Room Leader and Early Years team to plan, assess, and monitor progress in line with EYFS guidelines.
  • Provide regular feedback on pupils' achievements and development.
  • Offer intimate care where required and maintain a supportive, calm environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent).
  • GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Experience supporting young children’s learning and delivering phonics.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and assessment procedures.
  • Experience working with children of all abilities, including those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, calm under pressure, and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Proactive and flexible approach, good IT skills, and ability to handle situations with tact and sensitivity.
