We have an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team as a Content Marketing Lead at a time of rapid growth and innovation at Cognisys. Cognisys is a leading cybersecurity company specialising in Penetration Testing, GRC Consulting, and Managed Security services. About the Role

We’re on the hunt for a skilled and motivated Content Marketing Lead to take charge of our content strategy and bring the Cognisys brand to life across multiple touchpoints. This role blends content strategy, hands-on writing, and sales enablement to drive brand engagement and commercial success. You’ll be responsible for planning and producing high-quality content that speaks to several different audience types in the cybersecurity space. This can include CISO’s, Data Protection Officers, Head of Data Security etc., while also making complex topics understandable and engaging. From whitepapers and case studies to web copy and sales enablement, your work will support lead generation, customer engagement and brand positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute a structured content calendar across key channels, such as the website, email, social media, and sales enablement, aligned with marketing and commercial goals.
  • Create and adapt content and messaging that helps educate and enable our partners to better understand and advocate for our services.
  • Conceive, create and promote content tailored to our audiences to drive engagement, generate MQLs and nurture leads already in our pipeline.
  • Assist in developing brand and product messaging.
  • Plan and produce high-quality multi-format content, including blog posts, whitepapers, thought leadership, case studies, social posts, guides and email campaigns where needed.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex subject matter into clear, impactful marketing materials.
  • Support the commercial and growth teams where needed with customised campaign assets, sales enablement content and account-based marketing (ABM) materials.
  • Where needed, support in written content linked to paid advertising campaigns. This could be ad copy or assets.
  • Tailor the content for specific audiences and platforms.
  • Continuously optimise content performance by tracking engagement, testing formats and improving based on data insights.
  • Monitor and adapt to the evolving ways our audiences discover and engage with content, such as AI search (Generative Engine Optimisation), no-click search results and Answer Engine Optimisation.
  • Use marketing automation tools such as HubSpot to streamline workflows, personalise content and automate campaign tracking and reporting.
  • Work with the team to maintain and extract insights from content marketing efforts and record this in our CRM (we use HubSpot).
  • Support wider marketing activities, including event promotion, multimedia content creation and campaign planning as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a B2B content or marketing role
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong, relevant portfolio.
  • A natural storyteller with the ability to explain complex topics.
  • Proven experience creating B2B content across multiple formats.
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot (or similar CRM/CMS), SEO principles, and digital campaign planning.
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset who is equally comfortable writing, editing, and shaping strategy.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills.
  • High knowledge level of SEO and its principles.

Nice to have

  • Experience in ideally cybersecurity or professional services, tech or start-up environment.
  • Familiarity with localisation and adapting content for different UK regions or sectors.
  • Knowledge on developing ICP and personas.
  • Experience in tools such as SEMrush or Ahrefs (we use Ahrefs but would be happy to switch and add additional tools if required).
