Cognisant is working with a well-backed residential led business delivering large, complex schemes across the capital. This opportunity would suit somebody coming from a contracting background who enjoys being close to delivery, influencing strategy and operating in a commercially robust environment.

The role offers broad exposure across procurement, delivery, cost management and commercial strategy, working closely with operational and technical teams throughout the lifecycle of the scheme. This is not a role sat at arm’s length from construction. They are looking for somebody commercially sharp, capable of challenging the detail, interrogating subcontractor positions, managing risk properly and driving performance across the supply chain.

The Role

  • Lead and develop an established commercial team across a major residential programme.
  • Take ownership of cost control, forecasting, reporting and commercial governance.
  • Drive procurement strategy and subcontractor engagement across multiple trade packages.
  • Work closely with operational teams to influence delivery, programme and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure strong commercial discipline, compliance and reporting standards across the business.
  • Support wider business growth as the London pipeline continues to expand.

You

  • Strong commercial construction background, ideally gained within contracting or residential delivery environments.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing commercially complex projects.
  • Commercially resilient, delivery focused and confident challenging assumptions when needed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across operational and leadership teams.

Why Apply

This is a senior role within a growing platform, offering genuine influence, visibility and long-term progression potential. The business is investing heavily into growth across London and is looking for commercially capable people who want to help shape that journey, rather than simply manage a package of work.
