At Cogito, we partner with organisations to help them attract, engage and hire the people they need to grow. We combine recruitment expertise, market insight and a consultative approach to deliver talent acquisition solutions across RPO, talent mapping, employer brand, leadership hiring and project-based recruitment.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Bristol-based team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants variety, ownership and the chance to work across different client projects, supporting customers with high-quality recruitment delivery and proactive talent engagement.
The role
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will lead recruitment projects on behalf of Cogito clients, managing candidates and stakeholders through the full process from briefing and attraction through to screening, interview coordination, offer management and candidate feedback.
You’ll play a key role in sourcing, attracting and engaging candidates, while ensuring each project is delivered efficiently, accurately and with a strong focus on service quality. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across delivery, analytics and project teams to support recruitment reporting, talent pipelines and continuous improvement.

- Lead recruitment delivery across the projects you are responsible for.
- Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and manage expectations in line with project deliverables.
- Lead client briefing calls, ensuring you and the wider project team fully understand the role requirements.
- Undertake search, sourcing and candidate mapping activity to identify and engage suitable talent.
- Market roles to potential candidates and promote opportunities in a compelling and professional way.
- Conduct pre-screen telephone calls, assessing candidates against the agreed role brief.
- Present shortlisted candidates to clients with confidence, credibility and clear rationale.
- Coordinate candidate interviews and support a smooth recruitment process for all parties.
- Manage candidate feedback, offers and declines professionally, helping to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Negotiate packages and manage stakeholders through the offer stage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across recruitment systems and third-party platforms.
- Lead wider project teams where required, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
- Maintain engagement with talent pipelines to support a proactive recruitment approach.
- Work with the Analytics team to prepare recruitment reports and support candidate surveys.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is confident, professional and organised, with a strong eye for detail and the motivation to take ownership of recruitment delivery.

- At least one year’s experience in recruitment.
- Experience managing candidates and hiring stakeholders through a recruitment process.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Clear written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Confidence presenting information and discussing candidates with clients.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Strong accountability and ownership of your work.
- Experience in client or account management.
- Experience leading projects or supporting more junior colleagues would be beneficial.
- STEM or Professional/Financial Services experience would be benefical
At Cogito, you’ll be part of a people-first business that gives recruiters the opportunity to work on varied, meaningful projects rather than simply focusing on transactional hiring. You’ll work with a supportive team, gain exposure to different customers and recruitment models, and help organisations improve how they attract and engage talent.
This role would suit someone who enjoys recruitment delivery, values candidate and client experience, and wants to build their career in a consultative talent acquisition environment.
