Cogges Surgery is looking to recruit a General Practice Assistant to join our friendly and supportive practice team. The successful candidate will work 22.5 hours per week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Main duties of the job:
- This GP Assistant role supports the delivery of safe and effective care to patients residing in care homes and registered with the Practice.
- Initiative and a desire to take on new challenges is important as General Practice continues to evolve.
- This is a developmental role, and it is an expectation that the GP Assistant Skills Certificate will be completed.
About us:
Cogges Surgery is located on the edge of Witney, a thriving market town in West Oxfordshire providing healthcare to an increasing patient population. Our dedicated and experienced team comprises seven GPs, three of whom are Partners, Practice Nurses, a Paramedic, Health Care Assistants and a Clinical Pharmacist all supported by our invaluable reception and administration team. We support the training and development of our whole team. Our patient feedback is excellent, and we are rated Good by CQC in all domains.
Job responsibilities:
- Be a point of contact for care homes registered with the Practice.
- Be responsible for the registration and deduction of all care home residents, ensuring that Proxy access is available for all.
- Liaise with care homes pre ward round to establish patient list and add to care home session template.
- Complete care home proforma including observations for unwell patients.
- Input dictated consultations following ward round to clinical system.
- Send blood forms to district nurses as required.
- Complete associated administration (care plans) as per dictation and record on the clinical system.
- Type up referral letters as per dictation and send task to secretary.
- Participate in the recall and coordination of patients with long term conditions.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Previous administrative experience.
- Experience of working in General Practice / Primary Care.
Qualifications:
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
