Cogent Staffing are currently recruiting for an experienced and flexible HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver to join a well-established transport operation. If you’re comfortable with nights out and enjoy long-haul work with variety in your week, this could be the ideal opportunity.

The Role

  • HGV Class 2 tramper work
  • Sleeping out in the cab during the week
  • Long-distance deliveries and collections
  • Working away from the depot for several consecutive days
  • Ensuring loads are secured and transported safely
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and compliance checks

Working Pattern

  • Hours and days vary depending on operational requirements
  • Could include:
    • Sunday evening start, returning Friday afternoon, or
    • A mixture of weekday and weekend work
  • Flexibility is essential due to the nature of tramping work

Pay & Benefits

  • £32,362.20 basic salary (45 hours per week)
  • Overtime paid at £18.00 per hour
  • £30 per night out allowance
  • Permanent, full-time role
  • Stable and ongoing work

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous tramping experience preferred
  • Comfortable sleeping in the cab
  • Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport legislation
