Cogent Staffing are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase to join our client\’s team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the Office Manager and collaborate with the Production Coordinator/Factory Supervisor to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, and maintaining inventory, among other tasks.

  • 07:30-16:30 Monday to Friday
  • £27,000-£32,500 salary
  • Immediate start required

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and controlling buying and goods inflow to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Managing Purchase Order (PO) systems to ensure compliance with authorisations and budgetary limits.
  • Investigating and implementing new systems for continuous improvement in purchasing processes.
  • Effectively using SAGE software for inventory management and purchasing activities.
  • Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Placing orders efficiently, minimizing paperwork and coordinating with factory planning.
  • Matching invoices against orders, checking prices and delivery quantities for accuracy.
  • Booking hotels, flights, and transport for installations, takeouts, and exhibitions.
  • Reconciling Mastercard and Soldo accounts for accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Organizing transportation logistics for various operational needs.
  • Producing risk assessments and method statements as required.
  • Inputting data into spreadsheets and maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Assisting with general office tasks and any ad hoc jobs that may arise.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in SAGE and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in purchasing or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
