We are looking for a motivated Furnace Operativeto join our client’s team.
You will work closely with the Furnace Supervisor to ensure furnaces are running efficiently and safely, supporting production targets and responding quickly to day-to-day operational needs.
Shift/salary
- Core hours Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00
- During peak periods required to work nights, 12 hour shifts & weekends
- Premium rates paid for nights, weekends, bank holidays, overtime

The role
- Support the Furnace Supervisorwith the running and checking of the furnaces
- Work
- Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00(with flexibility for operational requirements)
- Be able to workdays, weekends, and nights when required
- Carry outstart-up and shut-downprocedures for the furnaces
- Monitor and adjustfurnace control panels as required
- Respond to and assist withproduction faultsand any operational issues
- Change miller screensand complete cleaning tasks includingvacuum and filter changes/cleaning
- Monitorreadings and running levelsto ensure the correctspecificationis met
- Communicate and liaise with R&D engineersand the R&D managerto support production and quality requirements
- Ensureproduction targets are achieved, recordingaverage statsandtotal outputaccurately
- Carry outgeneral fault finding and troubleshootingwhile the furnace is running

- Basiccomputer literacy(including Excel), and confidence using internal systems fordata logging
