Our well established client based in Horsforth are looking to recruit a maintenance machinist on a straight away permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role will be to manually set machinery to specification to produce a bespoke product made from various materials, plastic, and metals.
There will aso be an element of machine maintenance for the factory, assisting their current engineer with repairs and fault finding - experience is highly advantageous.
THE ROLE
- Manually setting machinery to specification
- Producing a bespoke product
- Working to engineering drawings
- Measuring and machining to tight tolerances
- Machining small batch, precision components
- Some Bench fitting
- Learning how to maintain machinery (full training provided)
- Working to customer deadlines
- Working as part of a team
THE CANDIDATE
- Must have manual machining experience.
- Mechanical Maintenance experience is advantageous
- Must have experience setting and running manual machines including lathes and milling machines
- Sound Engineering knowledge and a positive attitude
- Must come from a manufacturing/Engineering environment.
- Must have willingness to learn new skills (this could lead to a maintenance engineer position for the right person)
- Ability to read drawings.
