Salary: £39,452.40 per annum (based on 60 hours per week)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm; Saturday rota: Approximately 1 in 6 or 1 in 7

Job Purpose: To ensure the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of palletised goods using an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle in line with company and legal standards
  • Complete multi-drop pallet deliveries (average 16–18 drops per day, volume dependent)
  • Carry out daily vehicle walkaround checks and report defects
  • Secure loads safely in accordance with load restraint regulations
  • Adhere to drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive regulations
  • Maintain accurate delivery and compliance documentation
  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites
  • Follow route plans while adapting to operational requirements where necessary

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation
  • Good time management and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience
