Job Purpose: To ensure the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of palletised goods using an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an 8-tonne curtain-sided vehicle in line with company and legal standards
- Complete multi-drop pallet deliveries (average 16–18 drops per day, volume dependent)
- Carry out daily vehicle walkaround checks and report defects
- Secure loads safely in accordance with load restraint regulations
- Adhere to drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery and compliance documentation
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites
- Follow route plans while adapting to operational requirements where necessary
Person Specification
Essential:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours and transport legislation
- Good time management and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
- Experience operating curtain-sided vehicles
