Cogent Staffing are recruiting for experienced Order Pickers/Warehouse Operatives on a temporary to permanent basis. Our client is a leading manufacturer in their industry and is looking to add to their warehouse team.
Shift/salary: 4 x 12 hour day shifts (7am - 7pm) followed by 4 days rest period then 4 x 12 hour nights £13.96 rising after 12 weeks. This pattern continues, including days, nights and weekends.
The role:
- Using scanners, barcodes and serial numbers to locate the correct items for shipment and to ensure that inventory is managed accurately.
- Safely picking items from shelves.
- Packaging completed orders & palletising items.
- Completing necessary invoicing or paperwork to allow efficient tracking of orders.
- Unloading deliveries from delivery lorries and assisting with the distribution of goods to their correct storage locations.
- Restocking shelves using items from storage areas to ensure inventories are always full.
- Meeting picking speed and efficiency targets as specified by Supervisors.
- Performing warehouse cleaning duties if necessary.
The candidate:
- Must have relevant picking experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have experience using hand-held scanning devices.
- Is able to commute to Elland, Halifax for 7am Monday - Sunday.
- Must be able to work days/nights/weekends on a rotating basis.
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.
Following 12 weeks probation period, the pay rate is uplifted, and candidates are also offered a permanent contract within the company if they pass the probation period.
