The Role
We are seeking a qualified, senior-level electrician to spearhead our electrical division. This is a hybrid, active role combining hands-on electrical installation with on-site project management. You will lead large-scale projects, coordinate external partners, and actively train and mentor our apprentice intake. Ongoing sector-specific training is fully provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on Installation & Leadership: Deliver and oversee large-scale AC/DC three-phase commercial EV installations, GRP cabinet builds, cable containment, and distribution boards.
- Project Management: Drive site progress, manage project delivery timelines, and interpret CAD drawings/site plans with precision while ensuring strict 18th Edition and H&S compliance.
- Apprentice Mentorship: Provide direct on-site leadership, technical guidance, and hands-on training to Apprentices and junior electricians.
- External Stakeholder Engagement: Partner and collaborate directly with clients, external contractors, and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) to coordinate grid connections.
Requirements
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation + 18th Edition certification.
- Core Skills: Strong technical aptitude for hands-on delivery, CAD interpretation, GRP cabinet experience, and a full UK driving licence.
- Leadership & Management: Strong communication skills with a proven ability—or clear readiness—to manage projects, lead site teams, and develop junior talent.
- Commercial-scale EV charger installation experience (City & Guilds 2919).
- City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection).
- Prior experience in a hybrid supervisor/project management role.
