The Role
The Chef de Partie will assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the safe and effective running of the kitchen operation, bringing strength to the kitchen team by learning and running a section. The main goals are to make sure as a member of the team you are performing to the best of your ability and are prepping and delivering food to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Clear and effective communication with all departments and line management
- Effective time management of yourself & others
- Delegation of Kitchen Staff duties to junior kitchen staff
- Safe Food Better Business management and Safe Food practices
- Menu and specials board input – weekly specials & function menus
- Food ordering where required
- Operating a strict FIFO stock management system & stock taking
- Running a section, re-stocking, working fast and efficient delivering food
- Checking deliveries & ensuring all items are accounted for
- Food wastage reporting and profit margin awareness
- Reporting maintenance problems
- Ensuring cleaning duties are carried out effectively and safely
- Ensure all kitchen staff are dressed appropriately
- Follow risk assessments and COSHH practice
- Ensuring service is smooth & food is prepped to the correct volume and standard
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
- Report any Health & Safety matters immediately to the Head Chef/ Sous Chef and take remedial action within the realms of your training, ensuring the Company remains compliant.
- To comply with the company policies regarding Fire, Health & Safety, COSHH, Security, and any other ad hoc duties requested by management.
