The Role
As the Arcade attendant you will oversee the daily operation of the Games Room and games machines located in the main complex, ensuring all machines are in good working order, clean and in a condition safe for public use. Daily duties will include stocking and cleaning machines, interacting with customers and fixing minor issues. The main goal is to make sure every customer receives the best experience while conforming to company policy, procedures, and good practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers to use the gaming machines in the main complex and games room, including handling the contactless card payment system and providing complimentary credits.
- Explain the operation of games to customers.
- Listen to customer complaints and assist with solutions.
- Perform minor repairs, replace parts and notify maintenance of any issues.
- Observe guest behaviour, ensure orderliness and ask disruptive guests to leave.
- Record machine malfunctions and repairs for compliance.
- Ensure the safety of staff and other guests in and around the games room.
- Empty bins and pick up litter.
- Follow COVID‑19 guidance – clean touch points and enforce social distancing.
- Arrange periodic inspections and enforce gambling legislation.
- Manage stock using the company’s stock control system, allocating stock to areas correctly and removing obstructions such as bent coins or foreign material from coin acceptors.
- Use keys to access machines and store keys securely when not in use.
- Comply with company policies regarding Fire, Health & Safety, COSHH and Security.
- Carry out any other ad‑hoc duties requested by management.
