The Role

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our Leisure Team as a NPLQ Qualified Lifeguard. As a NPLQ Lifeguard, you will help ensure the safety of our guests around the pool and contribute to the day-to-day running of Cofton’s busy leisure facility. You will be responsible for supervising the poolside and frequently checking all related poolside areas to maintain a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and safety. You will support the Leisure team by performing your role to the best of your ability while conforming to company policy, procedures and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure the poolside areas are supervised and checked frequently for hazards and that Cofton’s high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained at all times.
  • To carry out cleaning duties and pool plant checks at specified intervals and log all such checks as appropriate.
  • To clearly and appropriately communicate to guests where correction of behaviour is required in order to comply with poolside rules.
  • To carry out lifeguard rescue of any person facing difficulty in the water.
  • To administer first aid treatment in accordance with training.
  • To ensure any poolside accidents or injuries are recorded in the accident book without delay.
  • To report any maintenance problems without delay.
  • To assist with taking payments from guests and members as necessary.
  • To deal with enquiries from guests and members promptly and politely.
  • To undertake any necessary training as deemed necessary by management.
  • To follow company procedures, guidance and training as appropriate.
  • To report any Health & Safety matters immediately to the Leisure Supervisor/Asst/Leisure Manager and take any remedial action within the realms of your training, ensuring the Company remains compliant.
