The Role

We’re currently looking for someone with heaps of knowledge and passion to join our Fisheries Team and run our multiple lakes as the Fishery Manager. As the Fishery Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fishery department. You will promote and market our beautiful lakes to increase awareness of fishing at Cofton amongst our community and guests. You will actively promote fishing holidays, competitions, and think of innovative ways to promote Cofton within the fishing community. We offer a range of fishing lakes, catering from match fishing to carp fishing, so it’s crucial you grasp the distinct disciplines of fishing and can adapt your approach accordingly. Ensuring a fantastic guest experience is a vital part of this position. You will provide coaching to a variety of skills, from experienced anglers to those new to the world of fishing. Your focus will be on delivering an exceptional fishing experience for everyone, all while prioritising safety and upholding our corporate responsibilities to the environment – monitoring the lakes and fish levels. You will also need to ensure our lakes are compliant in line with CEFAS fishery licence and Health and Safety legislation. Last but definitely not least, a significant part of your responsibilities involves overseeing our onsite tackle shop. You'll be championing our rental equipment and fishing experiences throughout the park, while handling essential tasks like stock control, ordering bait, and managing other consumables.

The Role

  • Oversee smooth daily operations, ensure adherence to fishery and permit rules, maintain fishery grounds and security.
  • Managing the activities of the Fishery department ensuring staffing levels are appropriate.
  • Full retail and financial management responsibilities for the day-to-day management duties.
  • Become a Cofton Holidays brand ambassador.
  • Team management to include recruitment, training & development, customer service consistency with our departmental performance.
  • Efficiently & effectively manage labour schedules & team performance.
  • Incident & procedure management, alongside a very proactive approach to any potential guest complaints that require your time to achieve a swift and amicable resolution.
  • Health & Safety management, updating all company procedures / risk assessments alongside departmental compliance.
  • Safeguarding the Fishery within Cofton Holidays.
  • Retail management – Maintain strict stock control measures, effective retail displays, rental equipment are monitored and maintained.
  • Team development & engagement. You are required to identify areas of development & progression, undertaking the full support of training provided to achieve a fully engaged & committed team. This role requires you to lead by example.
  • Running of the tackle shop.
  • Managing and monitoring the lakes and water quality, prioritizing fish welfare and environmental care.
  • Ensuring fish levels and other associated stock levels are managed and maintained effectively.
  • Provide regular reports on various aspects of the fishery.
  • Proactively identify growth and operational efficiency opportunities.
