Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer with over 5 years of experience in both Manual and Automation Testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of applications through effective test planning, execution, defect management, and automation framework development. The candidate should have strong expertise in functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing within Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform manual testing of web, desktop, mobile, and API-based applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-up meetings.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and provide recommendations for quality improvements.
- Create and maintain test documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.
- Ensure adherence to testing standards, processes, and best practices.
- Support release validation and production deployment activities.
Required Skills
Manual Testing
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience in Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Integration, and System Testing.
- Test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Automation Testing
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
- Playwright
- Cypress
- TestNG/JUnit
- Ability to develop and maintain automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
API & Database Testing
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs and web services.
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills for database validation and data testing.
Tools & Technologies
- Git, Jenkins, Maven, or equivalent DevOps tools.
- Test management and defect tracking tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter.
- Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail, or Telecom domains.
- ISTQB Certification is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ownership and accountability for deliverables.
