About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Production Support Specialist to join our Production Engineering team, supporting business-critical payment applications within a highly regulated financial services environment.
In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise with operational leadership to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of production systems.
You will play a key role in incident management, service recovery, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement activities while collaborating closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead service restoration activities during major production incidents and coordinate technical resolver groups.
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues using Unix/Linux tools, system logs, and SQL queries.
- Respond to user and business queries related to application functionality and service performance.
- Provide timely communication to stakeholders regarding incident impact, progress, and resolution plans.
- Escalate critical issues appropriately and drive effective incident resolution.
- Problem Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations following production incidents.
- Identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective and preventive solutions.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, support runbooks, and knowledge repositories.
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, and operational processes to improve overall service resilience.
- Automation & Operational Excellence
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using
Python, Bash, or Power Shell .
- Build internal tools and utilities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Leverage AI-powered productivity tools such as
- Microsoft Copilot and
Claude to streamline operations, documentation, and analysis.
- Change & Release Management
- Participate in change reviews, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support application releases, platform patching, maintenance activities, and disaster recovery testing.
- Assess operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure service continuity.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of experience in
Production Support, Application Support, Site Reliability Engineering, or Software Engineering , preferably within
Banking, Payments, or Financial Services environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with
Unix/Linux administration and production troubleshooting.
- Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using
Python, Bash, or Power Shell .
- Experience supporting and maintaining
Kubernetes-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of
Java/J2EE applications in production settings.
- Experience with
Oracle Database, IBM MQ, and Web Sphere technologies.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as
- Splunk and
App Dynamics .
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure, distributed systems, and application architecture.
- Proven experience leading incident management activities and coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
- Demonstrated success in delivering automation solutions and operational improvements.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted tools such as
- Copilot or
Claude to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of payment platforms, payment processing, and transaction lifecycle management .
- Understanding of network troubleshooting and connectivity diagnostics.
ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management experience.
- Working Model
- Standard working hours within the
- 08:00–18:00 window (typically
09:00–17:00 ).
- No regular on-call support requirement.
- Approximately two weekend working days per month , with compensatory time off provided during the week.
- Support required on public holidays on a rotational basis, with time off in lieu provided.
- Hybrid working model requiring a minimum of
8 days per month in the Kraków office .
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in Poland .
- Availability to attend at least one technical interview locally is required.
