Security Solutions Architect
Location: UK – Sheffield (3 days weekly from office)
Project Overview
Top Bank is working on a strategic Identity and Access Management programme and is re-shaping the way Authentication, Federation, Privileged Access Management, Access Governance, Secrets Management and API Security is done across the bank. One of the pillars of that programme is Privileged Access Management (PAM). The bank is uplifting controls and capabilities in privileged access and introducing a password vaulting solution to meet strategic requirements.
We are seeking an experienced Security Solution Architect to complement an existing team of Solution Architects and progress designs of PAM components and related systems for the end-to-end journey.
Role Overview
Security Solution Architects manage end-to-end solution design and deliver architecture design documents aligned with business requirements, strategies, standards and patterns. They create high-level and low-level designs, document key design decisions, deviations, and technical risks and issues.
They should be comfortable presenting designs at design authorities and to senior leadership, and collaborating with global teams to explain and agree on designs related to Password Management of new technologies.
Qualifications & Certifications
- CISSP/CISM certification or other broad cybersecurity industry-recognised certificate
Principal Preferred Requirements
Cybersecurity Expertise:
- Experience as a Solution Architect with knowledge of identity & access management, and PAM
- Strong experience documenting High-Level and Low-Level designs
- Ability to communicate with non-security technical SMEs at a comfortable level
- Experience in large-scale IT transformation programmes
- Experience with PAM solutions such as CyberArk, Centrify, Delinea / Thycotic and OneIdentity
Platform & Technology
- BizzDesign, Archi, or generic UML visualisation experience for high-level designs
- Working proficiency in Jira for project & tasks management
- Working proficiency in Confluence for documentation
Responsibilities
- Produce, manage and update end-to-end solution designs in line with reference architecture and business requirements, including low-level/detailed designs
- Articulate and publish key design decision records and options to ensure solutions follow a transparent decision-making process
- Publish and obtain approval for any design deviations resulting in technical debt
- Record and mitigate technical risks or issues arising from a solution design
- Translate requirements into architecture to ensure technology and services meet customer needs and business outcomes
- Ensure designs are efficient, timely and cost-effective throughout the project lifecycle
- Understand business motivations and technical security
- Promote strong documentation and governance
Risk and Dependency Management
- Effectively manage and escalate technical and project risks or issues
- Articulate solutions and remediation steps for technical risks & issues
- Map design decisions to technical risks & issues and rationale for changes
Teamwork
- Collaborate across IT as a cybersecurity SME
- Perform peer reviews of PAM team designs
- Collaborate with Engineering and Test teams within the programme
