Data Strategy & Governance
- Define and implement an enterprise data strategy aligned with the client\βs insurance business priorities.
- Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and operating models ensuring data quality, lineage, and compliance with UK/EU regulations (FCA, PRA, GDPR, Solvency II).
Data Transformation & Architecture
- Lead end-to-end data transformation initiatives covering data platforms, cloud migration, data integration, and advanced analytics.
- Partner with technology teams to define modern data architecture (cloud data lakes, data warehouses, real-time pipelines, master data management).
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, programme boards, and business heads, influencing data-driven decision making.
- Manage and mentor cross-functional teams (data engineering, BI/MI, data science, risk, and actuarial).
- Build strong partnerships with business, operations, and regulatory stakeholders.
Delivery & Execution
- Oversee large-scale data programmes/projects, ensuring on-time delivery, risk management, and measurable business impact.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven track record (12-18+ years) in data leadership roles within insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.
- Strong expertise in: Enterprise Data Strategy, Governance & Operating Models; Data Platforms & Cloud (AWS/GCP, Databricks, etc.).
- Mandatory skills: Insurance, Lloyd\βs of London Market, Data Governance, Stakeholder Management, Regulatory Compliance.
- Hands-on knowledge of data architecture, analytics, and AI/ML adoption.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with ability to engage CXO-level executives.
- Strong programme management capability in delivering multi-million-pound data initiatives.
- Experience in insurance domain (life, general, specialty, or reinsurance) highly desirable.
- Drive adoption of data-driven culture across the organisation.
- Regulatory Compliance (GDPR, Solvency II, IFRS 17, FCA/PRA requirements).
