About The Role

This position will oversee site MEICA teams, which may comprise Site Agents, Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Site Supervisors/Foremen, sub-contractors, Project Engineers, and Electricians. The role involves taking full responsibility for the safe, timely execution of MEICA projects in accordance with budget, programme, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure HSQE Management Systems and processes are adhered to, implemented, and maintained.
  • Understand and ensure the Safety Statement is readily available on each site.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver projects aligning with the company’s vision, strategy, and values.
  • Plan all construction operations to meet required deadlines.
  • Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote a safety culture throughout the project.
  • Supervise staff, operatives, and sub-contractors, providing guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate training with the HSQE department.
  • Manage, direct, educate, and mentor junior technical site staff.
  • Determine required resources (manpower, plant, equipment, subcontractors, materials) from start to completion, considering budget constraints.
  • Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders meet specifications.
  • Negotiate deals with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain permits and licenses from relevant authorities.
  • Ensure project compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with clients and their representatives, attending regular meetings to update on progress.
  • Manage and interpret contract documents provided in-house or by clients and their representatives.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent works design, including obtaining necessary certificates.
  • Evaluate site progress.
  • Monitor and report project details (Progress, Programme, Finance, HSQE, Risks & Opportunities) to the Regional Director in a timely manner.
  • Develop construction budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements.
  • Document all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings, ensuring contract obligations are met.
  • Prepare Client Progress Reports, Accounts, and budgets promptly.
  • Measure and value completed works on site, collaborating with the project quantity surveyor as needed.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to promote new business.
  • Provide information to HQ on current and completed projects as per company procedures.

About You

Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering supporting your competency in the role.
  • Membership in the relevant Professional Institution.
  • Chartered Status or working towards it.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager supporting water/wastewater engineering projects within a Framework.
  • Full clean Irish/UK or EU driving licence.
  • No work permit sponsorship available.
