This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for an SME Account Manager Team Leader. The Team Leader will oversee a team of SME Account Managers, providing coaching, performance management, and guidance to ensure portfolio growth, high client satisfaction, and effective risk management. The role involves monitoring team KPIs, allocating workloads, and supporting complex client cases, renewals, and negotiations. The Team Leader will collaborate closely with underwriting, risk, operations, and sales teams to deliver integrated solutions and maintain strong relationships with SME clients and brokers. Additional responsibilities include contributing to process improvements, supporting training initiatives, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading or supervising account management or client service teams, ideally in financial services, insurance, or B2B solutions.
  • Strong background in SME account management, including portfolio handling, client retention, and upselling or cross-selling activities.
  • Demonstrated skills in stakeholder management and collaboration with cross-functional teams such as underwriting, sales, and operations.
  • Solid understanding of credit risk, trade credit insurance, or related risk management products is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with SME clients and intermediaries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including comfort with data, KPIs, and performance reports.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to manage team priorities, deadlines, and multiple client demands.
  • Experience driving process improvements and implementing best practices within a team environment.
  • Comfort working with CRM systems and standard office software; experience with insurance or risk platforms is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
