Are you a compassionate, dedicated individual looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make an impact? We’re looking for caring and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our Supported Living team in Ammanford. This is a 16 hour Support Worker role, with an additional 9 hour sleep in shift (25 hours per week). Due to the specific needs of the individuals we support, this role is only open to applicants who are biologically female. A full UK manual licence is required to be able to drive Motability cars. This service operates 24/7, so flexibility is key. You’ll work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep‑ins. Typical day shifts run from 7am - 11pm with sleep‑ins as additional hours.
Our friendly team supports two incredible individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs in their home, just a short walk from Ammanford town centre. Staff also support an individual with learning disabilities, who lives in the complex flat attached to the house. These individuals are active, engaged, and love volunteering, aqua aerobics, Zumba, cinema trips, and one has even competed in the Olympics. This is more than a job, it’s a chance to empower, uplift, and share unforgettable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Supporting independence in cooking, budgeting, and household tasks
- Administering medication
- Encouraging and supporting hobbies like hiking, fitness classes, and social outings
- Helping individuals access community activities and local groups
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with cleaning, administration, and team collaboration
- Bringing fresh ideas to enhance the lives of the people we support
- Using digital platforms to efficiently complete risk assessments and produce all required supporting documentation
- Responsible for accurately issuing, recording, and reconciling petty cash transactions in line with our financial procedures.
Skills and Experience Needed
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. Experience evidences: I.T., numeracy & digital literacy. Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers.

Pay and Pensions
£24,531 (£12.75 per hour) – Sleep‑in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift. Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am. Enhanced DBS which we will pay for. Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed. Pension Choices: Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10% OR Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service. 3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership. Saving scheme with competitive interest rate. Give As You Earn scheme for tax‑efficient charity donations. From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.
Time off and Flexibility
26 days holiday, pro‑rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 year service or cash equivalent of 1 day’s annual leave. Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks. Paternity Leave: 3 weeks. Wellbeing Sick Pay, rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 years. Eyecare: Up to £100 reimbursement towards eye tests and glasses.
